The True Christmas

Introduction

In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. (This was the first census that took place while[a] Quirinius was governor of Syria.) And everyone went to their own town to register. So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them. And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. (Luke 2:1–11)

What is the meaning of Christmas?

Exchanging gifts / abundance of food / Christmas trees and ornaments?

No, Christmas Day has a much deeper meaning!

It carries the dimension and the weight of an eternal purpose.

It Is the Day the Divine Becomes Human

The purpose of Christ is to rescue fallen humanity.

If sin entered through one man, forgiveness was established through another man, Jesus.

We are not what we should be; Jesus came to rewrite my story and yours.

He came to dethrone the powerful and exalt the “humble.”

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.(John 10:10)

Every Christmas we exchange gifts!

The greatest gift we receive is not perfumes, toys, and so on; the best gift comes from God—Jesus. In this exchange, He asks for no gift in return, but He instructs that if we are to keep something, let it be our heart.

It Is the Day the Mysterious Becomes Known

Long ago, God spoke to our ancestors in many ways:

Moses: Through the burning bush

Elijah: Through a gentle whisper

Daniel/Joseph: Through dreams

And among many others; however, in these last days He no longer speaks only through signs or prophets. But He speaks through Jesus who dwells in us.

Now God reveals Himself in Jesus Christ and demonstrates and proves His LOVE through Him.

No, we declare God’s wisdom, a mystery that has been hidden and that God destined for our glory before time began. (1 Corinthians 2:7)

God had already decided to love us; He already knew we would fail, so there was already a plan before the beginning of the ages.

My goal is that they may be encouraged in heart and united in love, so that they may have the full riches of complete understanding, in order that they may know the mystery of God, namely, Christ. (Colossians 2:2)

Before His coming, Jesus was still hidden, but now He is no longer!!!

THE MYSTERIOUS BECOMES KNOWN!!!

Conclusion

ON THIS DATE, MAKE EVERY AREA OF YOUR LIFE COME TO KNOW CHRIST.
